Your Bay Ridge Evening

You're walking along Shore Road after dinner at Tanoreen, where the lamb musakhan was the best thing you've eaten this month. The Verrazzano is lit behind you, cables strung with white light against the harbor. Your partner takes your arm. The waterfront promenade here stretches four miles, and tonight you walked about half of it. Bay Ridge doesn't get the press that northern Brooklyn does, but you've lived here long enough to stop caring about that. You take the R from 86th Street. It's a longer ride, forty-five minutes to Union Square, then the L to Bedford Ave. You don't mind. The train is quiet this time of night. The studio is a short walk from Bedford. Sue opens the door. She's expecting you. Inside, there's no rush, no pressure, no glass cases. Just a table, good light, and a woman who's going to make your ring by hand.

Rings Our Bay Ridge Clients Love

These are starting points. Every ring is built to order in our studio. Your stone, your metal, your size. Nothing is pulled from a case.

How to Design Your Engagement Ring Near Bay Ridge

Whether you start online or visit us in person, every ring at Haejin Jewelry is made to order. There is no inventory to browse, no display case to lean over. You design something that exists nowhere else in the world. Here's how it works.

1. Explore

Start with our online Ring Builder to browse settings, shapes, and metals. Or use our Custom 3D Design tool to build something from scratch. You can also skip straight to a consultation if you'd rather talk it through in person.

2. Consult

Walk in or book a private appointment at our Williamsburg studio, 20 minutes from Bay Ridge. Sue will sit with you, learn what you're drawn to, and guide you through diamonds, metals, and settings at your pace. Most visits are 30 to 45 minutes. No pressure, no upselling. Bring a mood board or bring nothing at all.

3. Create

Once you've chosen your design, we build it. For custom rings, that means 3D CAD modeling, revisions until every detail is right, and made-to-order production in recycled gold with an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond. Your ring is finished within a few weeks and shipped with free insured delivery. 60-day returns if anything isn't perfect.

Why Bay Ridge Couples Choose Us

Bay Ridge is the neighborhood where your waiter's grandmother owns the restaurant. Where the Lebanese bakery on 5th Avenue has been run by the same family for thirty years. Where the Greek diner still makes avgolemono from scratch. This is old Brooklyn, and it resists the disposable. You've stayed here because you value permanence and community over novelty. A small studio run by one woman, using materials that don't destroy the earth, making rings that are designed to last a lifetime: this is the Bay Ridge approach to buying an engagement ring. No chains. No franchises. A handshake, a conversation, and a piece of jewelry that means what it's supposed to mean.

Where to Propose Near Bay Ridge

Shore Road Park promenade at sunset, with the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge lit behind you and the harbor stretching toward Staten Island. Walk south from 69th Street and find the bench near the 79th Street overlook. The view opens up and the foot traffic drops off. Owl's Head Park, the hill at the northeast corner, gives you a panoramic sweep: the harbor, the skyline, the bridge. Bring a blanket. Go on a clear evening when you can see the Statue of Liberty from the ridge.

"I had no idea what I wanted but Sue helped guide and educate me. She encouraged me to take my time in my decision as it was a big one! I didn't see the final creation until I was proposed to and I was blown away. Truly exactly what I wanted. I am so happy to support a small business in my neighborhood."

"Unlike other places I visited, it was obvious that Sue really cared about finding what was best for us, and not just trying to sell us the most expensive ring possible. If you go with Haejin you absolutely will not regret it and you will receive something better than you ever could've imagined."

"She helped me create the ring of my dreams. Sue involved me in the whole process, so I got to see the stone in person before moving forward, and got a mockup of the design as it was being made. The result is unreal. Local, woman-owned, and realistic pricing...I can't say enough good things about Haejin Jewelry."

"She guided me, explained all the different options, we iterated together to find something which my partner would like and then she manufactured our dream ring for us. Sue is incredibly warm and kind and I can only recommend anyone to go to her. My fiancee immediately said yes and she thinks the ring is 'just perfect.'"

Questions from Bay Ridge Couples

Is it worth the trip from Bay Ridge to Williamsburg for an engagement ring?
It is a longer trip, about 45 minutes on the R train or 25 minutes by car. But you are getting a fully custom ring designed one-on-one with Sue, starting at $1,450. Most Bay Ridge couples make two visits total: one consultation and one pickup.
My family is from the Middle Eastern community in Bay Ridge. Do you work with cultural ring preferences?
Sue has designed rings for couples from many cultural backgrounds and is happy to incorporate specific traditions, whether it is a heavier gold weight, a particular stone arrangement, or a design that reflects your family's heritage.
We are thinking about proposing along Shore Road. Can you help with timing?
Shore Road Park with the Verrazzano behind you is a stunning proposal spot. Sue can time your ring completion to your planned date. Sunset at the 69th Street pier is especially beautiful in the fall.
How does your pricing compare to the Diamond District?
Our lab-grown diamond rings start at $1,450, which is typically 30-40% less than comparable natural diamond rings on 47th Street. You also get a private appointment instead of a high-pressure booth, and Sue handles all design, sizing, and aftercare.
Can I drive and park near your studio?
Yes, and coming from Bay Ridge by car is the easiest option. Take the BQE north to Metropolitan Avenue, about 20 minutes outside of rush hour. There is metered parking on Metropolitan and free street parking on the residential side streets.

Ready When You Are

No rush. No deposit. No commitment until you're sure. Just a conversation about what you're imagining, in a studio where nobody works on commission.

Most first visits are 30 to 45 minutes. Some couples bring mood boards. Some come with nothing but a budget and a feeling. Both are perfect.

Sue will walk you through diamonds, metals, and styles at your pace. You'll leave knowing exactly what you want and what it costs. Whether you come back is up to you.
