1. Safety
Support for crisis hotlines, shelters, legal advocacy, and emergency responses that help women and families find immediate safety.
Love is not complete without safety.
In Williamsburg Brooklyn, every ring we design begins with that belief.
The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is Haejin Jewelry’s long term giving commitment to support women and families in Brooklyn and New York City who are rebuilding their lives after hardship, violence, or instability. This page shares our promise, our framework, and how we plan to give back as our studio grows.
We are in the process of launching this initiative. Financial contributions have not begun yet. As donations and partnerships are confirmed, this page will be updated with real numbers, dates, and impact stories.
In one glance: The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is our long-term promise to support women’s safety, dignity, and new beginnings across Brooklyn and New York City. We are still in the planning phase, and this page will be updated with real donation dates, partner organizations, and impact milestones as they happen.
Rooted in Williamsburg Brooklyn and serving the broader New York City community, this project reflects our belief that every woman deserves safety, dignity, and a new beginning.
Our rings celebrate the most hopeful moments of people’s lives. Yet we know that many women in our own city are navigating fear, instability, or recovery. As a woman owned Brooklyn studio, we cannot celebrate love in one room and ignore harm in another. The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is our promise to turn a portion of our success into protection, dignity, and new beginnings for others.

The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is:
Three things define this project:
Our goal is not to use charity as decoration. Our goal is to build a steady, reliable channel of support for women who deserve safety and the chance to begin again.
To understand how we think about honesty in our work, you can also read our radical transparency guide →.
We are designing this project to support women and families in Brooklyn and New York City who are:
New York City is one of the most vibrant and demanding places in the world for women seeking safety and stability. By centering our giving in Brooklyn and extending its impact across the five boroughs, we are committing to the women who make this city resilient, creative, and strong.
Our long term intention is to work with established organizations in New York City, such as those providing shelter, trauma informed counseling, legal support, and crisis response. As formal partnerships are confirmed, we will list them here along with links to their official websites so you can learn more and support them directly.
Because we are a small independent studio, we want our giving model to be thoughtful, realistic, and sustainable.
At a glance, our giving model is built around:
This is the structure we are building toward.
This phase will begin when our studio reaches the revenue threshold we are currently working toward.
We see this project as a permanent part of Haejin Jewelry’s identity.
It will grow slowly and honestly rather than loudly and suddenly.
To keep our giving focused and meaningful, we organize The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ around four pillars.
Support for crisis hotlines, shelters, legal advocacy, and emergency responses that help women and families find immediate safety.
Assistance for housing, food, childcare, and essential services that make it possible to stay safe long after the crisis moment passes.
Funding for trauma informed counseling, support groups, and community programs that restore dignity and self trust.
Support for education, job readiness, and creative programs that help women rebuild their lives and reclaim their stories.
Whenever we select a partner organization, we look for work that touches at least one of these pillars and serves people in Brooklyn or the greater New York City area.
We believe that if a brand mentions giving, it must be clear about what that means. This is how we plan to stay accountable to you and to the women we hope to support.
This is a living document. As The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ grows, this page will grow with it so you can see our progress over time.
Every couple who designs a ring with Haejin Jewelry is part of this project’s foundation, even before formal donations begin. You are helping us build a studio that can stand long enough to give back in a meaningful way.
In the future, we plan to structure giving in ways such as:
When this structure is finalized and active, you will see a simple explanation here and on any product pages that are directly connected to this initiative.
Every engagement ring, wedding band, or piece of fine jewelry purchased from Haejin Jewelry directly contributes to the future launch of the Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™. As our studio grows, a portion of future profits will be dedicated to supporting women and families across Brooklyn and New York City who are rebuilding their lives after hardship.
While we have not begun making financial contributions yet, your support today helps us move closer to building a long-term, transparent, and sustainable giving program that truly makes a difference in our community.
Design a ring that also supports safety and new beginnings in Brooklyn.
Begin your engagement ring or fine jewelry journey knowing that your choice helps us move closer to our first official donation.
If you are part of a Brooklyn or New York City organization that supports women’s safety, healing, or new beginnings, we would love to learn more about your work.
We are especially interested in organizations that:
Please feel free to reach out to us through our Contact page and include “Brooklyn Love Restoration Project” in your message subject line. We cannot promise partnership with every organization, but we will read and consider every introduction with care.
Current status: We are in the commitment and planning phase. Donations have not yet started. This timeline will be updated as milestones are reached.
Status: Active
We created The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ to formally document our intention to give back. This page serves as a public record of that promise and a framework for how we will carry it out.
In preparation for launching the Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™, we have already completed the foundational internal work required to begin partnering with local organizations in the future. This includes formalizing our giving framework, documenting the eligibility requirements for potential nonprofit partners, outlining verification steps for donation reporting, and creating the internal structure that will allow us to implement this program responsibly as our studio grows.
While we have not begun making financial contributions yet, the administrative and structural groundwork is now in place. This ensures that when we select our first partners, we can support them with transparency, accountability, and long-term consistency.
Status: In progress
We are learning about local organizations in Brooklyn and NYC that support women’s safety, including shelters, counseling centers, and advocacy groups. Our goal is to build at least one long term relationship with a trusted organization and list it here once confirmed.
Status: Coming soon
Once our studio reaches the financial threshold that allows us to give sustainably, we will make our first official donation. When that happens, we will update this section with the date, partner organization, and the nature of our gift.
Status: Planned
After our first contributions, we aim to establish a rhythm of annual giving that grows as we grow. Each year, we will add simple, honest entries here so you can see the story of this project alongside the story of our studio.
The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ was created by Sue Kim, founder of Haejin Jewelry, a woman-owned Williamsburg studio dedicated to ethical fine jewelry, radical transparency, and the safety and dignity of women in Brooklyn and New York City.

Not yet. At this time, The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is a formal commitment and framework. We are still in the phase of building our studio, learning from local organizations, and determining the level of giving we can sustain without risking the health of our small business. When donations begin, we will update this page with dates, recipients, and impact details.
Our goal is to support women in a way that is honest and sustainable, not promotional. Rather than attaching a generic promise to every item before our giving model is finalized, we are taking time to design a structure that we can keep. When a specific product or collection directly supports The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™, we will label it clearly and explain exactly what portion is given.
We are exploring partnerships with established Brooklyn and New York City nonprofits that focus on women’s safety, shelter, legal advocacy, trauma informed counseling, and long term healing. Once commitments are made, we will name those organizations on this page and link to their official sites so you can learn more and support them independently.
As a woman-owned jewelry studio rooted in Williamsburg Brooklyn, Haejin Jewelry believes in supporting the women and neighborhoods that shape our work. The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ focuses on safety, dignity, and new beginnings for women across Brooklyn and New York City because this city is our home, our inspiration, and our responsibility.
Yes. We welcome thoughtful suggestions from clients and neighbors. If there is an organization in Brooklyn or NYC that has helped you, someone you love, or your community, please share it with us through our Contact page. While we cannot partner with every suggestion, we are always open to learning.
Yes. Once giving begins, we intend to share clear, simple information about our contributions in the Impact Roadmap section of this page. We may not publish exact dollar amounts for every gift, but we will provide enough detail for clients to understand the scale, timing, and nature of our support.
Every engagement ring we design is part of a love story that feels safe, hopeful, and chosen. The Brooklyn Love Restoration Project™ is our way of acknowledging that not everyone in our city has that safety yet. By building a stable studio and then giving from it, we hope to help more women move from survival into a life that feels like their own again.
