Your Flushing Evening

You left Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao on Prince Street with soup dumpling broth still warm in your memory and your partner debating whether the crab or the pork was better. You walked through the crowds on Main Street, past the fruit vendors stacking lychee and longan in perfect pyramids, past the tea shop where the uncle pours oolong from a clay pot the size of your fist. The 7 train platform at Flushing-Main Street was full. You stood near the end of the platform where it is always quieter and watched the skyline get closer for forty minutes. At Court Square you transferred to the G. Three stops. You walked south on a street lined with trees and row houses and rang the bell at a studio with no sign. Sue brought out a 1.2-carat round brilliant on a cushion of black velvet. She spoke in the unhurried way of someone who has done this a thousand times but still cares about each one. Your partner leaned forward and studied the stone the way your grandmother studies jade: closely, seriously, with the light angled just so.

Rings Our Flushing Clients Love

These are starting points. Every ring is built to order in our studio. Your stone, your metal, your size. Nothing is pulled from a case.

How to Design Your Engagement Ring Near Flushing

Whether you start online or visit us in person, every ring at Haejin Jewelry is made to order. There is no inventory to browse, no display case to lean over. You design something that exists nowhere else in the world. Here's how it works.

1. Explore

Start with our online Ring Builder to browse settings, shapes, and metals. Or use our Custom 3D Design tool to build something from scratch. You can also skip straight to a consultation if you'd rather talk it through in person.

2. Consult

Walk in or book a private appointment at our Williamsburg studio, 25 minutes from Flushing. Sue will sit with you, learn what you're drawn to, and guide you through diamonds, metals, and settings at your pace. Most visits are 30 to 45 minutes. No pressure, no upselling. Bring a mood board or bring nothing at all.

3. Create

Once you've chosen your design, we build it. For custom rings, that means 3D CAD modeling, revisions until every detail is right, and made-to-order production in recycled gold with an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond. Your ring is finished within a few weeks and shipped with free insured delivery. 60-day returns if anything isn't perfect.

Why Flushing Couples Choose Us

Flushing is a city within a city. No English needed on Main Street. No pretense at any price point. The best soup dumplings in North America cost seven dollars, and the aunties who fold them have been doing it for thirty years. You grew up understanding that value has nothing to do with a label and everything to do with the hands behind the work. You know what real craftsmanship looks like because you were raised around it. A woman in a small studio, working with lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold, making each ring to order with no overhead and no commissioned salespeople: this is legible to you. The prices start at $1,450 not because the quality is lower but because the business model is honest.

Where to Propose Near Flushing

The Unisphere in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the 12-story steel globe built for the 1964 World's Fair. At night, the fountains are lit and the reflecting pool mirrors the sphere. Weeknight evenings after 9 PM, the park is quiet and the globe feels monumental in a way it does not during daytime crowds. The Queens Botanical Garden on Main Street has a wedding garden with a vine-covered arbor. Visit on a Saturday morning when the garden opens. The light through the pergola at 10 AM is warm and soft and you will have the space to yourselves.

"I had no idea what I wanted but Sue helped guide and educate me. She encouraged me to take my time in my decision as it was a big one! I didn't see the final creation until I was proposed to and I was blown away. Truly exactly what I wanted. I am so happy to support a small business in my neighborhood."

"Unlike other places I visited, it was obvious that Sue really cared about finding what was best for us, and not just trying to sell us the most expensive ring possible. If you go with Haejin you absolutely will not regret it and you will receive something better than you ever could've imagined."

"She helped me create the ring of my dreams. Sue involved me in the whole process, so I got to see the stone in person before moving forward, and got a mockup of the design as it was being made. The result is unreal. Local, woman-owned, and realistic pricing...I can't say enough good things about Haejin Jewelry."

"She guided me, explained all the different options, we iterated together to find something which my partner would like and then she manufactured our dream ring for us. Sue is incredibly warm and kind and I can only recommend anyone to go to her. My fiancee immediately said yes and she thinks the ring is 'just perfect.'"

Questions from Flushing Couples

How do we get to Haejin Jewelry from Flushing?
Take the 7 train from Flushing-Main Street to Court Square, transfer to the G toward Church Avenue, and get off at Nassau Avenue. The trip is about 40 minutes.
Does Sue speak Korean?
Sue is Korean-American and understands the cultural significance of the engagement ring in Korean families. Consultations are in English, but she is comfortable with Korean cultural context and has worked with many families from the Flushing Korean community.
We are used to shopping in Flushing's jewelry stores on Main Street. How is Haejin different?
The jewelry counters on Main Street sell pre-made inventory, often with limited customization. Sue designs every ring to order in her studio. You choose the diamond, the setting, the metal, and the details together.
Can we grab Korean BBQ in Flushing after our appointment?
Many couples visit Sue in the early afternoon, then head back to Flushing for dinner on Northern Boulevard or 37th Avenue. You will be back in the neighborhood with plenty of time to celebrate your ring design over galbi.
Are lab-grown diamonds well-regarded in the Asian community?
Lab-grown diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds, and more Asian families are embracing them as the smarter choice. Sue finds that Flushing couples especially appreciate the value: a larger, higher-quality stone for the same budget.

Ready When You Are

No rush. No deposit. No commitment until you're sure. Just a conversation about what you're imagining, in a studio where nobody works on commission.

Most first visits are 30 to 45 minutes. Some couples bring mood boards. Some come with nothing but a budget and a feeling. Both are perfect.

Sue will walk you through diamonds, metals, and styles at your pace. You'll leave knowing exactly what you want and what it costs. Whether you come back is up to you.
