Your SoHo Evening

You left Balthazar with bread crumbs on your jacket and that particular feeling of having spent exactly the right amount of time in a restaurant you've been going to for years. The cobblestones on Crosby Street were slick. You walked south past the cast-iron facades, the ones that are in the history textbooks, and turned east on Broome. At Bowery, you took the J train. Twelve minutes later, you stepped off at Marcy Ave. Williamsburg at night is a different register than SoHo: quieter storefronts, residential blocks, the sound of someone's music coming through a window. The studio is on Skillman Ave. No awning. No logo. Sue opened the door and you understood immediately why she doesn't need a SoHo address. The room is spare and warm. Three diamonds on black velvet. A conversation that felt like it was between people, not between a customer and a brand.

Rings Our SoHo Clients Love

These are starting points. Every ring is built to order in our studio. Your stone, your metal, your size. Nothing is pulled from a case.

How to Design Your Engagement Ring Near SoHo

Whether you start online or visit us in person, every ring at Haejin Jewelry is made to order. There is no inventory to browse, no display case to lean over. You design something that exists nowhere else in the world. Here's how it works.

1. Explore

Start with our online Ring Builder to browse settings, shapes, and metals. Or use our Custom 3D Design tool to build something from scratch. You can also skip straight to a consultation if you'd rather talk it through in person.

2. Consult

Walk in or book a private appointment at our Williamsburg studio, 12 minutes from SoHo. Sue will sit with you, learn what you're drawn to, and guide you through diamonds, metals, and settings at your pace. Most visits are 30 to 45 minutes. No pressure, no upselling. Bring a mood board or bring nothing at all.

3. Create

Once you've chosen your design, we build it. For custom rings, that means 3D CAD modeling, revisions until every detail is right, and made-to-order production in recycled gold with an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond. Your ring is finished within a few weeks and shipped with free insured delivery. 60-day returns if anything isn't perfect.

Why SoHo Couples Choose Us

SoHo trained your eye. You've walked through the Drawing Center and the galleries on West Broadway. You've stood in the Prada Epicenter and understood that Rem Koolhaas was making an argument about retail as architecture. You know what curated means, and you know the difference between curated and soulless. The problem with buying a ring in SoHo is that SoHo is designed to sell you things. The lighting, the music, the sales floor choreography. Crossing the river to a one-woman studio strips all of that away. What remains is a table, a conversation about what you actually want, and a ring made from materials that align with what you say you believe in. No packaging. No performance.

Where to Propose Near SoHo

Elizabeth Street Garden, the sculpture-filled lot between Prince and Spring, is SoHo's hidden romantic space. Stone statues stand among perennials and wisteria. It feels European and slightly forgotten, which is exactly the point. Visit on a weekday afternoon when the garden is nearly empty. A quiet cobblestone corner on Greene Street or Mercer Street, after the shops have closed and the tourists have cleared, is the architectural option. The cast-iron facades glow under the streetlights. Stand at the corner where Greene meets Grand. The scale of the buildings makes everything feel cinematic.

"I had no idea what I wanted but Sue helped guide and educate me. She encouraged me to take my time in my decision as it was a big one! I didn't see the final creation until I was proposed to and I was blown away. Truly exactly what I wanted. I am so happy to support a small business in my neighborhood."

"Unlike other places I visited, it was obvious that Sue really cared about finding what was best for us, and not just trying to sell us the most expensive ring possible. If you go with Haejin you absolutely will not regret it and you will receive something better than you ever could've imagined."

"She helped me create the ring of my dreams. Sue involved me in the whole process, so I got to see the stone in person before moving forward, and got a mockup of the design as it was being made. The result is unreal. Local, woman-owned, and realistic pricing...I can't say enough good things about Haejin Jewelry."

"She guided me, explained all the different options, we iterated together to find something which my partner would like and then she manufactured our dream ring for us. Sue is incredibly warm and kind and I can only recommend anyone to go to her. My fiancee immediately said yes and she thinks the ring is 'just perfect.'"

Questions from SoHo Couples

Why would I go to Williamsburg instead of shopping for a ring in SoHo?
SoHo has beautiful luxury stores, but their engagement rings are mass-produced at a massive retail markup. At Haejin, Sue designs your ring from scratch with lab-grown diamonds starting at $1,450. You get a one-of-a-kind piece at a fraction of what the SoHo flagships charge.
How do I get to Haejin from SoHo?
Take the J or M train from the Bowery station to Marcy Avenue. It is about 12 minutes. By car or Uber, it is 10 minutes over the Williamsburg Bridge.
I work in fashion and want a ring that reflects that. Can Sue do something editorial?
Sue has designed rings for clients in fashion, art, and design who want something that reads as intentional and modern. Whether you are thinking east-west settings, geometric shapes, or unusual proportions, bring your references and she will translate that aesthetic.
How does Haejin compare to the designer jewelry galleries on Crosby Street?
Those galleries carry gorgeous finished pieces from known designers, but you are paying for the brand name and the SoHo rent. At Haejin, your ring is designed specifically for you with no brand premium.
We want something that looks expensive but we do not want to overpay. Is that realistic?
That is exactly what lab-grown diamonds allow. A 2-carat lab-grown stone looks identical to what you would see in a SoHo window, but costs 30-40% less. Sue can design a ring with serious visual presence starting at $1,450.

Ready When You Are

No rush. No deposit. No commitment until you're sure. Just a conversation about what you're imagining, in a studio where nobody works on commission.

Most first visits are 30 to 45 minutes. Some couples bring mood boards. Some come with nothing but a budget and a feeling. Both are perfect.

Sue will walk you through diamonds, metals, and styles at your pace. You'll leave knowing exactly what you want and what it costs. Whether you come back is up to you.
