Got a Quote from Another Jeweler?

Bring it in. Sue will look at it with you. No obligation. No deposit. No sales pitch.

You've done the research. You've walked through the Diamond District, sat through the sales presentations, and now you have a number on a piece of paper. But something doesn't feel right. Maybe the price seems too high. Maybe you're not sure what you're actually paying for. Maybe you just want someone honest to look at it with you.

That's what we're here for.

How It Works

Step 1

Bring Your Quote

Walk into our Williamsburg studio with your quote, appraisal, or just a photo of the ring you're considering. No appointment needed.

Step 2

Sue Reviews It

Sue Kim, the founder and designer, will sit down with you one-on-one. She'll walk through every detail: the diamond specs, the metal quality, the setting construction, and the markup. She'll tell you honestly if it's a fair price.

Step 3

You Decide

If your quote is fair, Sue will tell you. Go back and buy it with confidence. If it's not, she'll show you what the same quality looks like at our studio. No pressure either way.

What Most Jewelers Won't Tell You

The average jewelry store marks up engagement rings 200-400% over their cost.
A $6,000 natural diamond engagement ring at a traditional jeweler contains roughly $1,500-2,000 worth of materials and labor.
Lab-grown diamonds have the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. The only difference is origin. And price.
Many Diamond District stores work on commission. The salesperson's incentive is to sell you the most expensive option, not the best one.
IGI and GIA certifications are standardized. A VS1 is a VS1 whether the store charges $3,000 or $6,000 for it.

No Strings Attached

No appointment required. No deposit. No obligation to buy anything.

If Sue looks at your quote and it's a good deal, she'll tell you. She'd rather you get a fair price somewhere else than overpay here. That's not a sales line. That's how a one-person studio stays in business for the long run: by being honest.

We're open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11-5, Saturday 11-6, Sunday 11-4. Walk-ins welcome.

Who Is Sue?

Sue Kim is the founder, designer, and the only person you'll meet at Haejin Jewelry. She's a Korean-American jeweler who opened her Williamsburg studio because she believed engagement rings shouldn't require a second mortgage or a sales pitch. She works exclusively with lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold. Every ring is made to order. She's designed rings for hundreds of couples across Brooklyn and NYC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this really free?
Yes. Walk in with your quote. Sue will review it with you. If you decide to buy from us, great. If not, you leave with better information. No charge either way.
What should I bring?
Bring whatever you have: a written quote, an appraisal, a photo of the ring, or even just the specs (carat, color, clarity, cut, metal type). The more detail, the more Sue can help.
Will you try to sell me something?
Sue will show you what a comparable ring would cost at our studio. That's transparency, not a sales pitch. If your existing quote is fair, she'll say so.
What if I already bought the ring?
That's fine too. Sue can look at what you purchased and let you know if the quality matches what you paid for. If you need resizing or modifications, we can help with that as well.
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural diamonds. They're graded by the same labs (IGI, GIA) using the same criteria. The only difference is that they're created in a controlled environment instead of mined from the earth.
How much less are your rings?
Our lab-grown diamond engagement rings typically cost 40-60% less than comparable natural diamond rings at traditional jewelers. A ring that quotes at $6,000 elsewhere might be $2,500-3,500 at our studio.
