Jewish wedding bands at Haejin Jewelry in Williamsburg Brooklyn

Wedding Bands for Jewish Ceremonies

Under the chuppah, the ring speaks in its simplest voice. No stones, no engravings, nothing to interrupt the circle. A plain gold band, whole and unbroken, placed on a finger with a promise that needs no decoration. It is the oldest, most meaningful piece of jewelry in the ceremony.

Haejin Jewelry. Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Plain gold ceremony bands in recycled 14K and 18K gold, made to your exact specifications.

Why Haejin Jewelry

Halachic Requirements, Met

The ceremony band must be plain gold with no stones and no engravings. Sue Kim makes these bands in 14K and 18K yellow, white, and rose gold. She'll confirm the specifications with you so you can focus on the rest of the wedding planning.

Recycled Gold

Every band is made from recycled gold. The metal is refined to the same purity as newly mined gold, but without the environmental cost. For couples who care about sustainability, this is a meaningful choice that aligns with the values the ring represents.

Custom, Even When Simple

A plain band still has dimensions. Width (2mm to 8mm), profile (flat, comfort fit, half round, knife edge), and finish (polished, brushed, satin). Our Band Atelier lets you configure every detail. Even the simplest ring can feel personal.

Made in Williamsburg

Our studio is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Sue Kim, the founder and designer, makes every band to order. When you come in, she'll walk you through the options: width, profile, finish, and gold color. If you already know what you want, she can take your measurement and have the band ready in about two weeks. If you want to explore, she'll show you samples so you can feel the difference between a 3mm comfort fit and a 5mm flat band. Walk-ins are welcome. Private appointments are available.

Engagement Rings

Every ring is made to order in our Brooklyn studio. Your diamond, your metal, your size. Nothing pulled from a display case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the halachic requirements for a wedding band?
The band must be plain gold with no stones, no engravings, and no decorative elements. It should be a complete, unbroken circle. Some authorities require a minimum gold value. Sue will discuss these details with you and make sure your band meets the requirements your rabbi expects.
Can the band be engraved?
For the ceremony itself, the band should not have engravings according to halachic tradition. However, some couples choose to add an engraving after the wedding. Sue can engrave a date, initials, or a short phrase on the inside of the band after the ceremony if you wish.
What gold colors do you offer?
Yellow, white, and rose gold in both 14K and 18K. Yellow gold is the most traditional choice for Jewish ceremony bands. 18K has a richer, deeper color than 14K. Sue can show you both side by side so you can decide which feels right.
What width options are available?
We make bands from 2mm to 8mm wide. For ceremony bands, 3mm to 5mm is the most common range. Narrower bands feel more delicate, wider bands make more of a statement. You can try different widths in the studio to see what feels comfortable on your hand.
Can I also get an engagement ring here?
Yes. Many couples order their engagement ring and ceremony band together. The engagement ring is a separate tradition from the ceremony band, so there are no restrictions on its design. Lab-grown diamond engagement rings start at $1,450.

"I had no idea what I wanted but Sue helped guide and educate me. She encouraged me to take my time in my decision as it was a big one! I didn't see the final creation until I was proposed to and I was blown away. Truly exactly what I wanted. I am so happy to support a small business in my neighborhood."

"Unlike other places I visited, it was obvious that Sue really cared about finding what was best for us, and not just trying to sell us the most expensive ring possible. If you go with Haejin you absolutely will not regret it and you will receive something better than you ever could've imagined."

"She helped me create the ring of my dreams. Sue involved me in the whole process, so I got to see the stone in person before moving forward, and got a mockup of the design as it was being made. The result is unreal. Local, woman-owned, and realistic pricing...I can't say enough good things about Haejin Jewelry."

"She guided me, explained all the different options, we iterated together to find something which my partner would like and then she manufactured our dream ring for us. Sue is incredibly warm and kind and I can only recommend anyone to go to her. My fiancee immediately said yes and she thinks the ring is 'just perfect.'"
