Engagement Rings in West Village, Manhattan
"You already know. You've known for a while now. That quiet certainty when you look at them across a restaurant table, on the subway platform at 14th St-8th Ave, walking home through Washington Square Park. The ring is just the last piece of a decision your body already made."
Haejin Jewelry. A woman-owned studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Lab-grown diamonds. Recycled gold. Made for the moment you've been rehearsing in your head.
You Care About Where Things Come From. So Do We.
The Diamond
Every diamond we set was grown in a lab, atom by atom. Same carbon. Same fire. Same hardness. Zero mining. You're not compromising. You're choosing the version that doesn't leave a hole in the earth.
The Gold
100% recycled solid gold. Not plated. Not hollow. Not new-mined. The metal in your ring already existed. We just gave it a second life and a better story.
The Studio
A woman-owned workshop on Skillman Avenue in Williamsburg. Not a chain. Not a showroom with fluorescent lights and commission breath. A place where Sue sits with you and sketches what you're imagining.

How to Design Your Engagement Ring Near West Village
Whether you start online or visit us in person, every ring at Haejin Jewelry is made to order. There is no inventory to browse, no display case to lean over. You design something that exists nowhere else in the world. Here's how it works.
1. Explore
Start with our online Ring Builder to browse settings, shapes, and metals. Or use our Custom 3D Design tool to build something from scratch. You can also skip straight to a consultation if you'd rather talk it through in person.
2. Consult
Walk in or book a private appointment at our Williamsburg studio, 15 minutes from West Village. Sue will sit with you, learn what you're drawn to, and guide you through diamonds, metals, and settings at your pace. Most visits are 30 to 45 minutes. No pressure, no upselling. Bring a mood board or bring nothing at all.
3. Create
Once you've chosen your design, we build it. For custom rings, that means 3D CAD modeling, revisions until every detail is right, and made-to-order production in recycled gold with an IGI-certified lab-grown diamond. Your ring is finished within a few weeks and shipped with free insured delivery. 60-day returns if anything isn't perfect.
The Same Diamond. A Different Decision.
A lab-grown diamond isn't a simulated diamond. It's a real diamond. Same carbon lattice, same Mohs 10 hardness, same fire under restaurant lighting. The only difference is origin. One came out of the earth. Yours was grown in a chamber that recreates the conditions 100 miles below the surface. The result is indistinguishable. The cost isn't.
Why West Village Couples Choose Haejin Jewelry
There are a lot of places to buy an engagement ring in New York. Department stores with fluorescent lighting. Chain jewelers where the salesperson works on commission. Online retailers where you never see the ring until it arrives in a box. Haejin Jewelry is none of those things.
We are a woman-owned studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that welcomes walk-ins and offers private appointments. Every ring is made to order with lab-grown diamonds and 100% recycled gold. Our founder, Sue Kim, works directly with every client. There is no sales team, no call center, no middleman. When you email us, Sue responds. When you visit, Sue is the one sitting across from you.
Couples from West Village and neighborhoods across Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island come to our studio because they want something different. They want to understand exactly what they're buying. They want to see the diamond before it's set. They want a ring that reflects their relationship, not a template from a catalog.
We specialize in lab-grown diamond engagement rings because we believe the science is settled. A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness, the same optical properties as a mined stone. The difference is that ours are grown in a controlled environment over a few weeks instead of extracted from the earth over billions of years. Every stone we sell is certified by IGI and comes with a full grading report.
Our prices start at $1,450 for a complete engagement ring with a lab-grown diamond. That same ring with a mined diamond would cost $3,500 to $8,000 at a traditional jeweler. We show you the price upfront. There are no hidden fees, no "call for pricing" games, and no pressure to spend more than you planned.
Questions from West Village Couples
What Our Clients Say
"Personal care from an expert jeweler. Sue reached out to me directly, helped me design the ring, helped me pick out a diamond, and negotiated on my behalf. I got a great deal for the size and quality of diamond and it's so beautiful. Honestly couldn't be happier."
"I had no idea what I wanted but Sue helped guide and educate me. She encouraged me to take my time in my decision as it was a big one! I didn't see the final creation until I was proposed to and I was blown away. Truly exactly what I wanted. I am so happy to support a small business in my neighborhood."
"Unlike other places I visited, it was obvious that Sue really cared about finding what was best for us, and not just trying to sell us the most expensive ring possible. If you go with Haejin you absolutely will not regret it and you will receive something better than you ever could've imagined."
"She helped me create the ring of my dreams. Sue involved me in the whole process, so I got to see the stone in person before moving forward, and got a mockup of the design as it was being made. The result is unreal. Local, woman-owned, and realistic pricing...I can't say enough good things about Haejin Jewelry."
"She guided me, explained all the different options, we iterated together to find something which my partner would like and then she manufactured our dream ring for us. Sue is incredibly warm and kind and I can only recommend anyone to go to her. My fiancee immediately said yes and she thinks the ring is 'just perfect.'"
"From the very beginning Sue made the entire experience feel so easy, thoughtful, and personal. She found the most incredible antique elongated cushion stone. Truly the ring I had been searching for my whole life, even in my dreams!! I truly cannot recommend Haejin enough."

What the Press Says
“What Kim has built in Williamsburg is rare in the jewelry industry: a studio where a couple can design a ring from scratch, select a certified diamond, and walk out spending less than they planned, all without stepping foot on Madison Avenue.”
The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, founded in 1841, is Brooklyn’s oldest continuously published newspaper, covering culture, community, and business in the borough for over 180 years.
Ready When You Are
No rush. No deposit. No commitment until you're sure. Just a conversation about what you're imagining, in a studio where nobody works on commission.
Most first visits are 30 to 45 minutes. Some couples bring mood boards. Some come with nothing but a budget and a feeling. Both are perfect.
Sue will walk you through diamonds, metals, and styles at your pace. You'll leave knowing exactly what you want and what it costs. Whether you come back is up to you.
